Graduate Photography at my alma mater? Yes please!
One of my favorite things to do is come back to my alma mater and photograph other graduates. Saginaw Valley State University holds a very special place in my heart. I really like to go to places that are significant to each graduate, or even where they had most of their classes. Gina & Savanna work together, and are graduating with their masters in Public Health from Saginaw Valley State University.

Location is, truly, everything
When I book a graduate photography session, I like to let my grads choose 2-3 locations they want shots at. Some are sentimental, like where they had their classes at, and some are just beautiful places on campus. For Gina & Savanna we had some beautiful shots in the President’s Courtyard, as seen above. Showcasing where they held most of their classes in the Health and Human Services building was extremely sentimental. We had so much fun poppin’ bubbly behind the Founder’s Hall, which is a gorgeous Chapel on campus. Fun fact: I got married in that chapel!

Champagne showers, anyone?
It is important to me to showcase not only the wonderful campus through graduation photography, but also the personality of each graduate, and as you can see from this shoot, Savanna and Gina are so much fun! I mean, who doesn’t want to be poppin' bubbly on camera for their graduation photography?!

DIY Graduation Cap
Savanna's graduation cap is a nod to Harry Styles with background coming from the album cover of "Fine Line" which has the song "Lights Up" where the lyrics 'I'm not ever going back' come from. Gina's is a nod to Taylor Swift's song "The Story of Us" where the lyrics 'Next chapter' come from. I am a huge Swiftie myself, so I absolutely loved seeing the way San & Gina chose to decorate their caps!

Sorority Sisters are Forever
Savanna was in the sorority that I was also a part of when I was in college, Kappa Tau Epsilon, and Gina was in the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. I have to say, joining Greek life was one of the best things i could have done for my photography business, everyone is extremely supportive! Coming back from graduation photography for my fellow Greek life graduates has been such a wonderful, rewarding experience and I truly can’t wait to share more graduation photography with you all!
