No matter the season, Frankenmuth is a beautiful location for engagement photos. Growing up here has been crucial to finding all the spots that tourists haven’t yet taken over. This little German town has so much more to offer, especially for photos, than just Christmas and Chicken!
Megan and Colin got married in December of 2022, and their engagement photos were January of 2022. The first photo location is at Cross Park which is right across from the world famous Christmas store, Bronner’s, although not many people go to check it out besides photographers. I love to add something special to the couple whenever I can, for this couple I was able to get special permission to shoot at Frankenmuth Brewery where the beer is made!
Summer is gorgeous in Frankenmuth! Brianna and Dylan had their engagement photos in the Summer of 2022. The Covered Bridge next to the Riverplace Shops now has a paved walkway down to the river and hasn’t yet been discovered by many tourists, so it is a great spot to capture some photos! It connects to my personal favorite spot by the dam behind Zehnder’s and the Lager Mill.
Spring time is just about as beautiful as it gets for engagement photos at Frankenmuth. Liz and Aaron had their shoot in spring of 2022, and got married this summer of 2023! You’ll see shots from the Rose Garden and Memorial Park. The wooden structure at the Rose Garden is one of the best places to shoot, I’ve even shot a wedding here once! Just down the hill is a boat launch onto the Cass River and I adore the walking bridge there. Another great spot is on the side of the road by the golf course in town to catch the blooming flowers and a view of the St. Lorenz church steeple.
Heritage Park behind the Bavarian Inn Lodge holds a lot of festivals throughout the year, and the willow trees are my favorite thing about this spot. No matter the time of year the river is stunning and a wonderful place for engagement photos. Not only was it so much fun to capture Sydney and Jeremy, it was so gorgeous we couldn’t go wrong with any spot we shot at!
